Dr Dre suggested Jay-Z to record a duo
Oct 10, 2009US rapper and producer Dr Dre claimed he wanted Jay-Z to perform one of the songs for his upcoming album Detox. According to Dr Dre, he has been very impressed by Jay-Z’s recent album The Blueprint 3 and that is why he has decided to collaborate with him.
«Well, actually, Jay-Z's just been in the studio doing some writing. Hopefully I'll get him to perform on the record. Jay-Z, come holler», said he.
Detox already features collaborations with T.I., Lil' Wayne and Nas.
Dr Dre has recently announced that the record would not hit the stores this year. Although Detox was originally set to be released in 2004, it suffered a series of delays. Dr Dre was going to finish it by the spring 2009, but preferred to produce Eminem’s recent album Relapse. He was also busy with 50 Cent’s upcoming record Before I Self Destruct.
Dr Dre’s last to date album 2001 hit the stores in 1999.
