Dizzee Rascal wished Bono would get well quickly

British rapper Dizzee Rascal said he would like to replace U2 as a headliner of Glastonbury festival. Irish band had to cancel the performance after its frontman Bono suffered an injury during the rehearsals.

Dizzee Rascal was named as one of the artists who could replace U2. «I hope Bono pulls through quickly so he can deliver again. U2 are legends, but I believe I could have pulled it off», said he.

Dizzee Rascal added that he already had the experience of performing at rock concerts. «I supported Red Hot Chilli Peppers throughout Europe, so I know about entertaining a rock crowd. I know the music I've got works with the masses and works loud. That's 90 per cent of it», claimed he.

It was announced that the U2 spot was taken by Gorillaz. Damon Albarn, the creator of the cartoon band, wished Bono would recover as soon as possible.

Lady GaGa, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay, Guns N' Roses, AC/DC, The Chemical Brothers and a number of other acts were named earlier as a possible replacements for U2.

Yesterday it was announced that Dizzee Rascal and comedian James Corden are set to record official anthem of England national football team at the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2010. According to British press, they will make a cover on one of the famous songs from 80’s. It was also reported that the track would be produced by Simon Cowell.
