Damon Albarn and The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist formed a band

Blur frontman Damon Albarn revealed that he has joined forces with The Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea to create new band. Named Rocketjuice And The Moon, it also features The Good, The Bad & The Queen drummer Tony Allen.

According to the Gorillaz creator, the band has already scheduled several shows, the first of which is set to take place this weekend. He added that Rocketjuice And The Moon are also set to release eponymous album later this year.

Damon Albarn claimed that the name of the band was not their own idea: "Someone in Lagos did the sleeve design and that's the name he gave it, which suits me because trying to find a name for another band is always tricky".
