Coldplay have become the biggest selling rock band of the year in UK

Coldplay's fifth studio effort Mylo Xyloto has become the biggest selling rock album of 2011 in UK. According to the report by The Official Charts Company – international agency that supervises music industry – it has clocked over 900,000 copies although it was released only in October.

The second position was occupied by Noel Gallagher's debut solo effort Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. The third place belongs to Ceremonials by Florence And The Machine.

The biggest selling rock single of the year also belongs to Coldplay – their track Paradise was bought 410,000 times. Goo Goo Dolls' Iris has become second, followed by Birdy and her cover of Bon Iver's Skinny Love.
