Coldplay consider themselves to be the best British band

Feb 02, 2012
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin revealed that he and his companions – who have recently received Best British Act prize at the Brit Awards 2012 – consider themselves to be the best UK band at the moment. He added, that there is no wonder they grabbed the honor, because voters actually had no choice (although the category also featured Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Elbow and Chase And Status).

"To be honest, most British bands have split up. Blur have gone, Pulp have gone, Take That are on holiday, we're the only British band left on the pitch! But we'll take that ", claimed Chris Martin.

Coldplay's fifth studio effort Mylo Xyloto has become the biggest selling rock album of 2011 in UK. According to the report by The Official Charts Company – international agency that supervises music industry – it has clocked over 900,000 copies although it was released only in October.

The second position was occupied by Noel Gallagher's debut solo effort Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. The third place belongs to Ceremonials by Florence And The Machine.
