Christina Aguilera will star in a musical

Christina Aguilera is set to take on her first movie role. Singer was offered a major part in the musical titled Burlesque. The movie was written with Aguilera in mind, and tells about «a small town girl who finds love, family and success in a Los Angeles».

The shooting will start later this year. The musical will be produced by the same company as Beyonce’s movie Obsessed which generated $28.5 million in its opening weekend.

Christina Aguilera’s last record Back To Basics hit the stores in 2006. She is set to release new album this year.
