Cheryl Cole is going to drop her surname

Cheryl Cole has decided to change her stage name, reports British press. According to The Sun, she will drop her surname and release new records under the moniker of just Cheryl. Anonymous source told newspaper that singer wants to distance herself from her former husband, football player Ashley Cole, whom she divorced in 2010 saying that he has cheated her.

"Cheryl Cole is beginning a new chapter in her life so she doesn't want to be associated with negative stuff from the past", claimed source.

Cheryl Cole released her last to date studio effort Messy Little Raindrops in 2010.
