Famous indie director Robert Saitzyk is set to make a movie inspired by Jim Morrison’s last days. Titled The Last Beat, it will tell the story about fictional rock star of 70’s named Jay Douglas. According to the film creators, movie shows his last days as he is trying to «navigate his relationships with two women in Paris - a glamorous French Countess named Clemence and his California «soulmate» Valerie Eason».

Jay Douglas character is based on Jim Morrison’s image. The Doors’ frontman also spent his last days in Paris and died in home of his friend Pamela Courson, who is portrayed in the movie as Valerie Eason. There are still different versions about Morrison’s death.

The Last Beat is not the first movie about Jim Morrison – in 1991 Oliver Stone filmed The Doors movie with Val Kilmer playing Morrison.

However, Robert Saitzyk, according to his words, was inspired by another movie – Gus Van Sant's Last Days, a fictionalized story based on the last days of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.
