British composers awarded Radiohead and Amy Winehouse
May 05, 2008Radiohead and Amy Winehouse were named the winners of Ivor Novello Awards – it is presented yearly in London by the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters. Ivor Novello Awards is the only British annual event to honour the music writers.
Amy Winehouse won the best song prize for Love Is A Losing Game, while Radiohead were awarded for their album In Rainbows. Ironically, both Amy and the band were unable to attend the ceremony. Amy’s award was taken by her father, while Radiohead sent a message, saying: «We are delighted that In Rainbows has been honoured. We put a lot into the record and we're extremely proud of it».
