Bono's charity campaigning nearly ruined U2
Feb 02, 2009Bono revealed that his charity activism could split up U2. According to musicians words, his bandmates were sure that his constant involvement in different campaigns would end the group.
Speaking about time he spent on charity activities, U2 singer said: «It's dangerous. And it worries the whole band, if truth be told. But, you know, here's the thing - they thought, all of them, that my campaigning would sink the ship. They pleaded with me right at the start not to meet Bush».
Previously, U2 were honored with Amnesty International's Ambassador of Conscience Award for their work in promoting human rights.
U2 will release new album No Line On The Horizon in the end of February. They already premiered the first single from it, titled Get On Your Boots.
