Bon Iver turned down the opportunity to play at Grammy Awards

Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon claimed that the band has recently rejected an invitation from Grammy Awards organizers. The band was suggested to play at the upcoming ceremony that is scheduled for this weekend, but producers told them to join more popular act.

"We kind of said "go to hell" a little bit, and they sort of acted like they wanted us to play, but I don't think they wanted us to play. We wanted to play our music, but were told that we couldn't play. We had to do a collaboration with someone else", claimed Justin Vernon.

"And we just felt like it was such a large stage - we're getting nominated for Bon Iver album that we made... We were given accolades for it, and all of a sudden we were being asked to play music that had nothing to do with that", added singer.

Recently Adele announced that she will take part in upcoming Grammy Awards ceremony that will be held next week. It is set to become singer's first live performance since she had to cancel her tour last autumn due to problem with vocal chords.

"It's an absolute honour to be included in such a night and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all", said she.
