Billy Corgan denied The Smashing Pumpkins' split-up

The Smashing Pumpkins' frontman Billy Corgan said that rumors about the band's possible split-up are not true. Reports that emerged last month claimed that The Smashing Pumpkins may disband if their new album Oceania fails.

Rumors were fueled by Corgan himself, who stated that the band's future will depend on the success of Oceania. "If we're able to get that sense that something is happening again and get people to rally behind us a bit, I think the next three, four years will be very interesting for the band", revealed he.

Recently Corgan claimed that he has been misunderstood. "I would say those reports are irresponsible. We are very happy together as a band and as friends, and there are no plans to disband, nor any discussions about disbanding", said singer.

Oceania is set to hit the stores later this year.

The Smashing Pumpkins formed in 1988 and became one of the most commercially successful bands of 90's with 18.75 million albums sold.
