Beyonce draws inspiration from Adele's songs

Beyonce revealed the list of artists who have given her inspiration for the new album 4. According to the singer, it features Adele – who earlier claimed that her own studio effort 21 was influenced by Beyonce.

Singer also gave credits to Prince, The Jackson Five, Florence And The Machine and others. "I found a lot of inspiration in '90s R&B – Earth Wind And Fire, DeBarge, Lionel Richie… I listened to a lot of Jackson Five and New Edition, but also Adele, Florence And The Machine and Prince. Add in my hip-hop influences, and you can hear how broad it is", claimed she.

Beyonce said she was also influenced by Nigerian multi-instrumentalist Fela Kuti, whom she described as "sexy".

Earlier Beyonce explained why she had decided that her upcoming studio effort will be titled 4 – because it will become her fourth effort as solo artist. According to the singer, she borrowed the idea for this name from her fans.
