Beastie Boys will collaborate with Bob Dylan
Jul 07, 2009Beastie Boys have invited Bob Dylan to take part in the recording of their next studio album Hot Sauce Committee Pt 2. Legendary country singer has contributed several melodies that were sampled by the trio. They also sampled Dylan’s vocals.
According to the band’s members, the idea of collaboration came to them after Dylan spoke about the band during his radio show. «He played one of our songs and was talking about us. He's a big fan», said they.
Beastie Boys also stated that new disk could be described as «political» and would feature more traditional Beastie Boys’ sound than the band’s previous record The Mix-Up, released in 2007.
«It's a lot of vocals – very wordy. It's political, depending on what you call political. You know, if toilet talk and fart jokes are political, which they can be, in that sense yeah, very», said Adam Horowitz.
Hot Sauce Committee Pt 2. is set to hit the stores in September.
