Arctic Monkeys were named the best pop-band

Arctic Monkeys have picked up a Best Pop award from the South Bank Show Awards. South Bank Show is one of the most popoular music programms in the UK, it is broadcasted in over 60 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Sweden and the USA.

The show gives its awards «for archivments in popular culture». Arctic Monkeys were awarded for their album Favourite Worst Nightmare. Other winners include J.K. Rowling and BBC3 comedy Gavin And Stacey.
