Arctic Monkeys started their gig with James Brown’s music

Arctic Monkeys have paid tribute to James Brown, a year on from his death. Musicians said that they took the stage to the sound of one of his songs. «We walked onstage to The Payback», stated frontman Alex Turner.

He added: «At college I had a pair of jeans I’d written on in red marker, «I’ve got soul and I’m super bad»» (a quotation from one of the James Brown’s songs). «We were big fans of James Brown», stated bassist Nick O’Malley. «Brown’s death was one of those things when you heard, you didn’t want to believe it», continued O’Malley.
