Feb 02, 2011
Alex Turner, singer of Arctic Monkeys band, is set to release his first solo album next month. Titled Submarine, it was recorded as a soundtrack for upcoming movie of the same name. The film was directed by Richard Ayoade (famous for his role in The IT Crowd TV-series).

Ayoade also shot music videos for Arctic Monkeys' songs Fluorescent Adolescent, Crying Lightning and Cornerstone.

According to Alex Turner, the album was produced by James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco. Singer described the record as acoustic record based on guitar and piano tunes.

He also added that its tracklist features such songs as Stuck On The Puzzle, Hiding Tonight, Glass In The Park, It's Hard To Get Around The Wind and Piledriver Waltz.

In January Arctic Monkeys revealed that they have started the work on their fourth studio album. The band's members revealed that they gathered in studio at the end of 2010 and would like to release the record later this year.
