Arctic Monkeys are not satisfied with new album’s sales

Aug 08, 2009
Arctic Monkeys claimed that their recent album Humbug was selling slower than the band’s two previous records. Humbug hit the stores this week and was sold 40,000 disks first day.

Currently, it is obvious that the record would not overcome the 360,000 first week sales of Arctic Monkeys’ debut album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not and 220,000 copies in first week by their second record Favourite Worst Nightmare.

However, Humbug still may become 2009's fastest selling album in UK (currently, the first place belongs to U2’s record No Line On The Horizon).

Earlier, Humbug’s producer James Ford named new album «shocking». «It's a really great record. A lot slower, deeper than the band’s previous releases. Really great lyrics and melodies, I think anyone who only liked the first album might be shocked», said he.
