Amy Winehouse's third album may finally be released

Jul 07, 2011
An album featuring 12 previously unreleased songs by Amy Winehouse may be released this year, says British press. An anonymous source at Universal recording company told The Guardian that the singer has left a huge number of unfinished tracks.

"Amy had expressed an interest in getting back into the studio, and after some consultation everyone thought that would be a positive thing and a distraction from the other things she was dealing with", said the source.

He added: "She had put down the bare bones of tracks and some were further along than others. People were getting very excited, quite frankly they were really good. We heard rough cuts and they sounded like vintage Amy".

Amy Winehouse has recorded two studio efforts – Frank (2003) and Back To Black (2006). She started the work on the third album several times, but stopped it every time. Shortly before her death she promised that the album would hit the stores in January 2012.

Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her house in Camden on Saturday, July 23. The reason of her death has not been revealed yet and would not be named until results of toxicology expertise that are arriving only next month.
