Amy Winehouse's album topped British sales chart
Aug 08, 2011Amy Winehouse's second studio effort Back To Black has topped the British sales chart for the last week. According to the list that was revealed yesterday, on July 31, the album has rapidly climbed up following singer's death.
Amy's debut studio effort Frank has also made it to the Top-10, finishing on the fifth place.
Adele is another singer who has got two albums near the top – her last studio effort 21 has become second, while debut record 15 is fourth.
Earlier Adele praised Amy as a person who "paved the way" for her. "We believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them. Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about British music again", said singer.
Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her house in Camden on Saturday, July 23. The reason of her death has not been revealed yet and would not be named until results of toxicology expertise that are arriving only next month.
