Alanis Morissette will star in Radio Free Albemuth

The Canadian pop singer Alanis Morissette will star in the movie Radio Free Albemuth, based on the book of the famous sci-fi novelist Philip K. Dick. «I am a big fan of his poetic and expansively imaginative books», Morissette said.

She will play an ordinary woman Sylvia, secretary and soul mate of record label executive named Nick (Jonathan Scarfe). But before meeting Sylvia in reality, Nick saw her in his vision as a famous singer.

Filming of the movie began this month in Los Angeles and its outskirts. Director of the Radio Free Albemuth is John Alan Simon, who adapted the script from Dick's 1976 novel, which was published posthumously in 1985.
