Aerosmith will not look for the new singer

Aerosmith scrapped earlier announced plans to hold auditions this spring and find the replacement for the band’s singer Steven Tyler. According to musicians themselves, this decision was made during an emergency meeting between Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry in February.

Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton said: «There was a lot of sort of reconciling and processing feelings and stuff. Everyone said how they wanted things to be in the future. We finally realised, even with all the bullshit flying around, that there was a beautiful thing right there if we had enough sense to grab it».

«The phone was ringing. People wanted to see Aerosmith», added he.

Earlier this year, Joe Perry announced that the band would have some auditions to find a new singer by the summer. However, Tyler’s lawyer asked the band’s management to stop search. According to his words, Steven Tyler may start a legal action against Aerosmith if the band will try to replace him.

Aerosmith are set to headline upcoming Download Festival together with Rage Against The Machine and AC/DC.

The band’s last to date album Honkin' On Bobo was released in 2004.
