Aerosmith guitarist confirmed that Steven Tyler has quit the band

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry claimed that the band’s frontman Steven Tyler has officially quit the band. «Steven quit as far as I can tell», said he.

Perry added: «I don’t know anymore than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever».

Joe Perry also pointed that Aerosmith would try to find another singer to replace Tyler.

The rumors that Tyler may quit Aerosmith originally emerged in August, when singer fell onstage during the concert in Dakota and the band had to cancel US tour. According to Perry, it was the first time Aerosmith thought about changing the line-up.

It is unknown if Steven Tyler will work on Aerosmith's fifteenth studio album that is set to be released in 2010. Last to date record by Aerosmith, titled Honkin' On Bobo, hit the stores in 2004.
