Adele repeated Whitney Houston's success
Jan 01, 2012Adele's second studio effort 21 has topped US Billboard 200 album chart for 16's week. It is the best result ever that was previously achieved only by four efforts, including Whitney Houston's soundtrack for Bodyguard movie (1992).
Three other records are Ropin' The Wind (1991) by Garth Brooks, Some Gave All (1992) by Billy Ray Cyrus and the Titanic movie soundtrack (1997).
However, if 21 stays on top one more week, Adele will become new record holder.
Recently Adele revealed the date of her first live appearance since she had to give up performing due to vocal chord problems. Singer will go onstage at the upcoming Brit Awards ceremony to sing her chart-breaking composition Rolling In The Deep.
The event is set to take place on February 21 at London's O2 Arena. It will also feature performances by Noel Gallagher, Coldplay, Rihanna, Bruno Mars and several other artists.
