Mylene Farmer

Mylene Farmer (real name - Mylène Gautier) was born in a small village in Canada. Her father - Max Gautier – was an engineer, and her mother - Marguerite Martin – worked as a secretary. Her family moved to France at the beginning of 70's. Mylene wanted to be an actress, so in France she attended a drama studio and worked as a model. She started to sing when she met Laurent Boutonnat, a famous producer. Mylene decided to sing under the pseudonym Mylene Farmer because of her favorite actress Francis Farmer. In 1984 she recorded her first single Maman a tort, and it immediately became a smash-hit. Her first album Cendres de Lune (1986) was a great success in France, especially the song Libertine. In 1988 Farmer was named the Artist of the Year in France thanks to her next album Ainsi Soit Je…

Her concert in Paris in 1989 brought Mylene Farmer millions of fans and real fame. Dreaming of a career of an actress, Farmer played a part in the movie Giorgino (1994). The film took most of her time and energy so her next album Anamorphosee was recorded only in 1995. After a tour of 1996 Mylene Farmer recorded a video version of her concert Live A Bercy — 97. It took her 2 years to record her next album Innamoramento (1999), but it was worth while. This collection was really wonderful. Later this year Mylene had one more tour, she visited many countries including Russia. Millions of fans were waiting for her everywhere.

In 2005 Farmer recorded her new album Avant Que L'ombre…, that included the much talked-of song Fuck Them All. The music video for this single, as well as the other videos of Mylene Farmer (such as Sans Logique, Je Taime Melancolie, Regrets, Allan), was a real masterpiece and was highly praised by the critics. They called Mylene the best French singer thanks to her marvelous voice, great music, heartfelt writing and really bright concerts. The tickets to her concerts were always sold in several days. In 2008 Mylene Farmer recorded the album Point De Suture, which included the singles Point De Suture, Paradis Inanime and Degeneration.
