The Hits & Beyond review

A brilliant compilation of Dannii Minogue’s best hits

The Australian singer, songwriter, actress and fashion designer Danielle Jane Minogue is famous for writing and performing music for dance floors. She has been in the music industry for long sixteen years, and during this period of time nineteen hit singles have appeared and four top selling UK albums have been recorded. Her first album Love And Kisses was released in 1991 and reached number eight in the UK album charts. After that Dannii tried herself in many fields until finally decided to adhere to music. In the beginning of the XXI century her talent started to be appreciated by the world’s leading record companies and she became a success having almost replaced from various dance floors such pop icons as Beyonce Knowles and Justin Timberlake. This year Dannii has selected the best of all her hits to make brilliant compilation of them called The Hits & Beyond. The album, which has been a long expected one is perfectly organized and has all the necessary features of a hit collection – all the 20 songs are really Dannii Minogue’s best and include such hits as I Begin To Wonder and So Under Pressure.

The Hits & Beyond is suitable for any party

The Hits & Beyond is full of great dancing music and can be suitable for any party or a nightclub. The opening song I Begin to Wonder makes you move from its very first beats. Dannii’s vocals on it are a bit different from what we are used to due to the splendid transcription. The next two hits So Under Pressure and You Wont Forget About Me continue the main mood of the record and surprise by their great rhythm. One of the best songs on the album is Don’t Wanna Lose This Feeling for Dannii’s vocals on it sound very sensitive, while the flirting Baby Love is another club hit. The oldest track on The Hits & Beyond is Love and Kisses from the singer’s first album but it sounds so fresh as if she has written it just yesterday. The song Who Do You Love Now was extremely popular not so long ago and we are very lucky to hear it on the new record again. The melodious track I Cant Sleep at Night and the final Gone Good Times conclude the wonderful record and leave you with the strong desire to keep it playing all night long. The choice of the hits speaks for the fact that Dannii realizes what appeals to the audience and can objectively state what songs are her best.

Dannii has hardened the reputation of Dance Queen

Dannii Minogue was growing in a family where there has already been one star – her elder sister Kylie. Yet in spite of that she had enough courage and boldness to go in for music. She worked really hard to make the audience notice her. To find out what has come of all her efforts it is quite enough to listen to The Hits & Beyond after which you immediately understand that she did not try in vain. Dannii has found her own peculiar style different from that of her sisters’ – it is more frank and a little bit tougher as any dance music is supposed to be. The singer is now 34 years old and the new record is a kind of summing up of everything done to date. A broad hint in the title of this compilation, the word ‘beyond’ in particular, is telling that we are soon going to hear something brand new from this talented Australian. Dannii Minogue has tried her hand at many spheres and now it is absolutely clear that music is in her line. She has managed to step out of her starry sister’s shade, and no matter what their relations are full of love and respect. Now that Dannii has hardened the reputation of Dance Queen she is sure to stay in the game for good.
