Back on My B.S. review

An important noble men in the existing rap industry government

Although Busta Rhymes’ creative work has been estimated differently in various periods of his career the general tendency is rather obvious. If this outstanding and very memorable artist recorded one hit after another on the dawn of his career he seems to be much less interested in making his music popular as of late working actively in the movies and supporting the young beginning performers. Nevertheless if you supposed that his seventh studio work The Big Bang that recieved not as warm critics’ acclaim as Great club compilation himself had wished was his last one you were definitely wrong. Naturally thanks to numerous collaborations the artist could at least count on some commercial success but on the whole his participation in the compositions was reduced to the admitted minimum. No we are only left to guess how and why the man who had been so long considered a rap king and New York’s main rapper got deprived of his titles but judging by everything it is well too early to make the final sentence. This May Busta Rhymes releases his eight creation Back On My B.S. which even if does not help him to get his throne back does make him one of the most important noble men in the existing rap industry government.

Busta Rhymes sticks to his favorite formula on Back On My B.S.

Sticking to his favorite formula – maximum of guests, qualitative production, contagious beats and topical themes – Busta Rhymes has recorded an album that at first sight is similar to all of its predecessors. Yet from the very first opera sounds of the Back On My B.S. opener Wheel Of Fortune it is clear that this record is a creation of a self-confident person who knows that there is a way out of every situation with each of the songs claiming it out loud. The first one with the speaking title, Wheel Of Fortune, explains to us: Busta realizes that there are rises and falls in life and hence he never gets desperate. The track Give Em What They Askin For is remarkable for a memorable chorus, once again confirming how highly Rhymes praises his powers, while one of the pretenders to become a new hit is the composition Respect My Conglomerate featuring Lil Wayne and Jadakiss conquering not only with a successful sample but also with the perfect rapping of each of the performers. A catchy club hit Shoot For The Moon and an unbelievably straight rbuff Hustler's Anthem '09 featuring T-Pain both do credit to producers as well as Busta Rhymes who certainly plays the leading role here, whereas Kill Dem refined with the voices of Pharrell and Tosh reminds of the rapper’s Jamaican roots. Another album highlight Arab Money featuring Ron Browz pleases with a memorable oriental tune, and you are sure to remember the sample of I'm A Go And Get My... perfromed with Mike Epps for several weeks to follow. This summer the clubs are sure to play the luxurious bitter-sweet composition Don't Believe Em on which Akon and T.I. join the rapper. On the whole, strangely enough, the brightest numbers are placed at the end of the record: it closes with an excellent R&B-composition Decision performed with Jamie Foxx, Mary J Blige, John Legend and Common and the danceable World Go Round refined with Estelle’s vocals.

Great club collection

Among the 14 tracks of Back On My B.S. it is quite an undertaking to find a failure as each of them is recorded in the best traditions of hip hop and R&B. There is everything here including splendid samples, colorful beats and memorable audio effects that are so fashionable nowadays and can be found on the majority of the most successful albums of the genre. As for the guests this time none of them has outshine the faultless Busta who has remained faithful to his own inimitable style. More than that he has preserved and multilplied his famous sence of humor shining on more than one track on Back On My B.S. Perhaps somebody would have made something really extraordinary if he or she had been in Busta Rhymes’ shoes to regain the former glory but this rapper is obviously not one of those who suffers a lot becuase of his own failures. He has easily remembered from what everything once started for him and put it together with everything he has learned by now into Back On My B.S., a powerful, stylish, fashionable and really promising album, one of the best hip hop works this year without a doubt and a great club collection.
